Second, that they can’t get anyone to pay the same money for a Hyundai they would for a Toyota Avalon despite all that refinement. I suspect Hyundai’s difficulty mainly centers around the makeup of the large sedan market: Older middle-class Americans who grew up with domestics and have learned to trust Toyota, but who still view Korean cars with a jaundiced eye. That would explain why Hyundai is doing well both above and below this market niche, and why Kia’s comparable Cadenza is also struggling. Bottom line: Potential buyers who skip the Azera because it’s a Hyundai are doing themselves a disservice. Hyundai’s BlueLink telematics system allows owners to customize just about every aspect of the car (including deactivation of that irritating welcome/goodbye chime), and it paired phones, pulled up functions and navigated through menus intuitively. The 2015 Hyundai Azera is an attractive, full-size sedan that adds a little style to a segment that's known for being a bit stodgy when it comes to the looks department. The Azera, which slots between the Sonata and the Genesis in the Hyundai lineup, is using a modest redesign this year that could help brand the sedan to the heights of the two aforementioned cars.
