For your humorous pleasure, those behind Regular Car Reviews decided to attend a Dyno Day meet, and it appears there’s a running tradition to take one lowly car on its way to the junker to see what it does on the dyno. The victim this year was a 1993 Buick Century with the LG7 3. 3-liter V6. We’ve come a long way to the current LGX V6 by General Motors, that’s for sure. 3-liter V6, essentially a lower-deck version of the tried-and-true 3800 V6, was rated at 160 hp from the factory. But, that’s nothing a bottle of nitrous can’t fix, right. With a self-described “one metric butt-ton” of N2O hooked up, power is ready and willing. After the nitrous does it’s job, the 1993 Buick makes 140 hp. The third run, 193 hp. But, it’s all down hill from there. With a quick pop on the seventh pull, we have fire, which is quickly dispatched by one handy-dandy water bottle. That meant it was time for a good ‘ol fashioned “reverse to drive burnout ” session. You know you tried the same thing in your first front-wheel drive car. the plan is to always nitrous the car, the power differences were from changing the jetting for fun. also the car ran fine after the rev limiter fireball on the last hit, thats why we took it into the street to do some burnouts. you think that 67hp car would have done burnouts like that without the juice. Chewing a cheap cigar atop an old bulldozer, Jerry Matyiko is at work in his office -- the stunning, colorful and rapidly eroding cliffs of Gay Head on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. The 68-year-old Navy veteran moves stuff -- big stuff, like airport terminals and multistory office buildings -- and he’s come to the Vineyard to do something he’s done before: save an old lighthouse from being lost to erosion and falling into the... This time it’s the red brick Gay Head Light built in 1856, a scenic attraction and still a functional beacon for sailors. This is Matyiko’s sixth lighthouse rescue, and the work promises to be one of the resort island’s top attractions as it heads into summer on this Memorial Day weekend. Massive Prep Work The Martha’s Vineyard job has been under way for a couple of months -- massive prep work that must be done before the structure is moved an inch. As with any of his jobs, Matyiko doesn’t take apart a structure and he doesn’t lift it off the ground with a crane. Once the Gay Head lighthouse starts moving, it will take two or three days to go 134 feet -- a destination determined to safeguard its stability for a minimum of another 150 years. Cops: Concord Man Claimed to Crash Into SUV on Purpose - Patch.com

A local man with a long criminal history was arrested again last month and held on $10,000 cash bail after a two-vehicle accident on Sheep Davis Road. Paige, 46, of Washington Street in Concord, was arrested at 8 p. m. on June 6, 2015, and charged with reckless operation, as well as reckless conduct. According to reports, officers were called to the Makris Lobster and Steak House for a report of an accident. When they arrived, a New Hampshire State Police trooper already had a driver in custody, Paige , because he was allegedly “yelling in the middle of the road” after the crash between a Chevrolet Impala and GMC Sierra and wouldn’t stop when requested. The reporting officer spoke with two witnesses who were driving in separate cars southbound on the road behind a third vehicle, the Sierra. They stated that the Impala “came westerly out of the Lobster Pool and drove into the GMC,” according to the report. “It forced the GMC to roll over to where I saw it and the Chevy continued westerly off the road,” according to the officer. The driver of the Sierra, a man, was on the ground and later, transported to Concord Hospital by Concord Fire and Rescue teams. When the officer spoke to him and said he was investigating the situation, Paige reportedly started yelling at him directly. Source: patch.com
