The task force investigating a series of apparently random roadway shootings in northern Colorado has received several hundred tips since appealing for the public's help Tuesday in finding a "vehicle of interest" in two linked Loveland attacks. David Moore, spokesman for the task force, said Thursday that tips are "still coming in. ". "We want to encourage folks to continue," he said. Moore said Thursday that FBI agents are in Loveland investigating a lead in the June 3 shootings. The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports agents closed off 18th Street in Loveland from Denver Avenue to Chelsea Drive as they canvassed the area. The task force said Tuesday it is looking into whether a recently announced fourth attack is related to three other area shootings, saying that the fourth incident is "likely" linked to the fatal shooting of 65-year-old William Connole in Loveland. The multi-agency task force stressed, however, that so far it had found "no indication of a direct link" between the Loveland shootings June 3 and the two previous shootings in northern Colorado, one of which left a bicyclist in Windsor dead. In the fourth shooting, authorities say, a person late last week reported to the task force that he or she was shot at in the area of Denver Avenue and East Eisenhower Boulevard in. Toyota and the auto industry face a dilemma: As Google and Apple Inc. begin to move into their business, automakers must decide whether to hold them off and risk losing customers like Carpenter or embrace their technology and open the door to two of the most feared names in technology. Apple and Google aren’t making cars of course, at least not yet. But they’re building technology for in-car navigation, communication and entertainment, and both have openly speculated about moving further into the auto business. The risk is that automakers end up like mobile phone companies -- low-margin hardware makers -- while the Silicon Valley giants cash in. “When companies like Apple and Google get their toes wet in something, there’s always a long-term strategy,”... “There are going to be holdouts because some of these automakers are not yet convinced that Google and Apple will truly be a partner in developing this kind of technology.
