Two apparatus manufacturing experts, Rich Demski, commercial chassis product manager for Pierce Manufacturing and Bruce Nalesnik, chassis sales engineer for KME Fire Apparatus, gave a lecture titled “Modifying Commercial Chassis,” at the Fire... Fire departments need to be mindful of the liability and limitations commercial cabs and chassis present however, said Nalesnik, noting that some commercial chassis lend themselves more easily to fire apparatus then others. International cabs and chassis are most user friendly for apparatus builders, Nalesnik said, noting that they’re already compliant with National Fire Protection Association apparatus standards without any additional work from the apparatus builder. Demski said the Ford F550 cabs and chassis are also very good platforms for fire apparatus with Ford sharing engineering and design information with apparatus builders as well as technical expertise. Decorative fountain coming to Bel Air's Shamrock Park; Plaza Starbucks open - Baltimore Sun

Bel Air town officials are preparing to install a fountain in Shamrock Park next month. The town also is welcoming a new Starbucks, the first in the area with a drive-through window, that opened last Friday in Bel Air Plaza on Baltimore Pike. The Board of Town Commissioners is scheduled to vote on a contract for the installation and construction of the new fountain during the upcoming town meeting Monday night. He said the fountain, which has been donated by Kathleen and William Bacon, of Bel Air, will be placed near the William Humbert Amphitheater in an area that serves as a flag court. The company was known for its cast-iron fountains and statues during the late 1800s, and Small said J. W. Fiske fountains can also be found in New York City's Central Park. Small said the cost of the project is about $25,000 – part of which will be covered by a contribution from the Dresher Foundation, which has made prior contributions to the town to improve Shamrock Park. Monday's town meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p. m at the Bel Air Town Hall, 39 N. Hickory Ave. Economic Development Director Trish Heidenreich announced the "good news" of the opening of the Starbucks in the Bel Air Plaza, as well as the opening of the Steelefish Grilleon Boulton Street in mid-September.
