That's a bit disappointing although I don't think the front end needs much improvement although who doesn't like a tightened turning radius. Ford has no option but to maximise it's use of aluminium. At least this winter isn't as bad as last Christmas, maybe in California they are having much needed rain, maybe a little too much to quick, but needed. Don, if your statement were true, explain how a semi pulls 110,000 lbs worth of weight with a 15,000 lbs truck. Consider anti-sway which ups the ante even more by applying trailer brakes and alternating truck brakes to control sway. Now, keep it reasonable, I'm not suggesting you're going to pull a 15k lbs camper with a Prius, that's apples and oranges. But a truck is configured to pull a heavy load and when you're talking a thousand pounds from the truck to the trailer, it's not a big deal. I think the super duty going to aluminum will be much more of a game changer in it's own segment than the aluminum f-150 is. They could probably cut 1,000 pounds off the weight of the truck and likely increase the towing capacity. There is a lot of rust under that truck, which suggests it has been tested heavily.   Hello, I just purchase a 2008 ford f450And did an egr and egr cooler delete also the dpf was previously deleted I'm using an sct livewire bullydog tuner however the truck it's smoking white when stopped at lights execivelly when driving it doesn't smoke as much it's loosing some coolant and runs with minimal power what could be wrong I'm new to dieselTrucks looking for advise please help

  Million questions:

  - did it smoke before you removed the egr coolers and valve?- is the check engine light on?- do you smell coolant around the engine bay?- how badly is it loosing coolant ... might be .. .could be ... pouring out ?- what is the fuel economy reported on dash gauge ?- does your tune have egr/dpf delete option?

  The smoke was there before the egr and egr cooler delete however it was black now is white the dpf valve was already deleted prior to me getting the truck, the check engine is on, no smell of colant, I'm not sure if the tuner has the delete function's I was told that I needed to get costume tunes from technical support at sct factory, the codes that the tuner is giving are all related to the egr about 5 of them

  2008 ford f450 6.4

  If you have 5 EGR codes then it's in limp mode. You will need to get new tuning with the EGR turned off.

  You should be able to get custom tuning for the SCT. Or you may be interested in getting a different tuner: H&S or Spartan...

  That's one problem. The white smoke, well that could be another.

  I don't know what to say about this. You know you have a check engine light on and code(s) stored and yet your more concerned about possible coolant leaks and white smoke. Fix the problem your truck is complaining about. Then, move onto other concerns ... if you still have them. Yeah, you can't run your truck without an appropriate tune for the missing EGR and DPF.
