This was a cool test, but sort of the same old thing. I would really like to see some sort of durability test. One thing I've learned is that you can't buy a truck based on the tests such as this because they give you no idea as to the long term durability, which is by far the most important thing to me in a truck. Howard Clayton's Dodge Ram 3500 is heading for the record books. Purchased new in 2000, people tell him it looks like it might have 80,000 miles on it. When FARM SHOW caught up to him, he had just passed 1,688,676 miles. "The book says change the oil every 3,000 miles, but if I did that, I would be stopping every other day," says Clayton. "I change the oil and filter every 10,000 miles. Clayton lives in Iowa, but he tows trailers for an Indiana company, putting on more than 160,000 miles a year. The 70-year-old has been trucking for the past 20 years. The first 10 years were in a semi, and the last 10 in the Dodge 3500. Forest Cunningham is ClaytonÕs mechanic, though he lives in Missouri. "That one is just a baby compared to HowardÕs," says Cunningham, who gives credit to Clayton for taking good care of his rig. Source: news.pickuptrucks.com

2015 Ford Super Duty F-450: First Look - PickupTrucks.com

Ford revealed the new 2015 Ford F-450 Super Duty Platinum at the State Fair of Texas. At the heart of the new heavy-duty pickup is the newly modified turbo-diesel 6. 7-liter Power Stroke V-8. Many of the biggest changes to the 2015 F-450 are a result of the personal-use pickup truck adopting F-450/550 chassis cab parts and pieces. Other upgraded parts include a stronger and more massive rear axle, other driveline components and larger rear driveline U-joints. The new truck will get heavier-duty steering gear and linkages, upgraded suspension components (front and rear) and bigger shocks. Additionally, because of the changeover to stronger and heavier chassis cab wheels and tires, the new F-450 will get bigger brakes and new antilock calibrations. All of these changes will give the 2015 F-450 much higher payload, towing capacity, and gross combined weight ratings — all of which are likely to make it the new tow champ. In fact, from the looks of the video Ford showed at its press conference, it looks like Ford has been reading and watching the PickupTrucks. Ford Mustang, F-450 get the 'Need for Speed' - Fox News

Ford has unveiled a custom Mustang and F-450 that will star in next summer’s big screen adaptation of the “Need for Speed” videogame franchise as part of the automaker’s promotional tie-up with the film. The 662 hp Mustang Shelby GT500 has a one-off widebody kit and 22-inch wheels to give it a properly exaggerated arcade style, but the brawny F-450 could steal the show, or at least push its rivals out of the way. The Super Duty truck is powered by Ford’s 6. 7-liter Power Stroke diesel engine, but has been fitted with a Magna Flow exhaust that breathes through a set of smokestack-style pipes. A Mustang camera car was also provided for filming to help get those high-speed action shots. The Shelby will presumably be the hero ride for the film’s star, Aaron Paul, who plays a street racer just out of prison who finds redemption on a cross country road race. The movie premiers on March 14th, just a month before the Mustang's 50th anniversary, about the time many expect the next generation car to be revealed.
