2015 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 4×4: On-Road and Off-Road Review [Video] - The Fast Lane

How does the full-size 2015 Sprinter 4×4 van handle on and off the pavement. Once in the driver’s seat, the tilting and telescoping steering wheel and the multi-adjustable seat allow to get into a comfortable position. The 4×4 Sprinter only comes with the V6 turbo-diesel and a 5-speed automatic transmission. Does the 4×4 system affect the turning radius and road handling. There appears to be no loss of maneuverability from the driver’s seat. These commercial vans really know how to turn in a tight spot. The four-wheel-drive system is finicky to engage and disengage. You need to be rolling at about 5 mph, the steering wheel needs to be straight, and you shift to neutral in order to shift in or out of 4WD. This van also had low range. The 4×4 system is a $6,500 option on the Sprinter. If you want the low range, the whole system is $6,800. It’s only $300 extra for the gear reduction, so you might as well get it. If you have a rough construction site or inclement weather deliveries, the Sprinter 4×4 can the ticket to getting the...
