Army veteran sues Ford for not allowing service dog to accompany him to work - WXYZ

STERLING HEIGHTS (WXYZ) - An Army veteran and former Ford employee is suing the company after he was not allowed to bring his service dog to work with him. In 2012 he got a job at Ford’s Van Dyke Transmission Plant in Sterling Heights. “I think for Ford Motor Company, at this particular plant, it was unprecedented,” she added. Gordon, who filed a lawsuit against Ford this week, said he should have been protected by several anti-discrimination laws. “The law says, so long as you can show up and get the job done with the accommodation, you are entitled to the accommodation, unless it imposes an undue burden,” Gordon said. She said officials never gave Arndt a clear reason why Cadence wasn't allowed at the plant, nor did they let him try out the arrangement. Ford said the company is reviewing Arndt’s case.
