Dodge has announced that it will be releasing a 2016 model for the Dodge Viper American Club Racer, which is a line of vehicles that are track-focused but completely legal for usage in the streets. The 2016 Dodge Viper ACR will feature the same 8. 4-liter V10 engine of other models of the Viper, which can generate 645 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, along with a six-speed manual transmission. To improve upon the performance of the 2016 Viper ACR compared to the other Vipers, the company's engineers focused on improving the vehicle's aerodynamics, tires and brakes to allow it to maintain its legendary status. The aero package of the 2016 Viper ACR is capable of producing almost a ton of downforce at a speed of 177 miles per hour, which is about three times compared to the downforce generated by the Viper TA 2. 0 package. The Brembo brakes of the 2016 Viper ACR also use carbon, with six-piston calipers for the front brakes and four-piston calipers for the rear brakes. The suspension stiffness of the vehicle is over twice that of the Viper TA.
