Two pedestrians injured in wreck on East Colfax Avenue in Aurora - The Denver Post

Two pedestrians were seriously injured Monday night in Aurora as they apparently darted across the street to catch a bus. The Aurora Police Department reported the accident happened at 9:54 p. m. at the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and Peoria Street. A 2014 GMC Sierra pickup truck driven by Joe C. Duran, 47, was traveling south on East Colfax Avenue at about 35 miles per hour. He had the green light, according to the police report. The two pedestrians were in the crosswalk but the signal was on red, police reported. Witnesses told traffic investigators the two were running across the street as if they were trying to catch a bus. Duran did not show signs of intoxication, the police said. The police department is considering charges against the pedestrians, according to a news release.
