SEQUIM — Sequim School Board President Beverly Horan was cited for negligent driving Friday after her motor home collided with a pickup truck on U. S. Highway 101 at Schoolhouse Point Road. The State Patrol said Horan, 66, was uninjured in the crash. The driver of the Washington State Parks pickup, Randy Rondeau, 33, of Sequim, was uninjured. According to the State Patrol, Rondeau's 2001 GMC Sonoma was stopped eastbound on the highway waiting to turn left when the eastbound motor home struck it. (WKRN) – A Lawrence County fast food worker got the surprise of a lifetime when a kind stranger gave him a new set of wheels. I said, ‘It’s about as reliable as it looks,’ and it looked terrible,” Smith told News 2. The car, which has 350,000 miles on it, has a cracked dashboard, no driver’s side window and has a hook and piece of string to keep the driver’s side door... Smith said the man told him he needed a new car and asked him to follow him down the street. “I thought he was trying to sell me a car or something,” admits Smith. They pulled up to James Motors and the mystery man told Smith to wait outside. “He comes back out and says, ‘How do you like that blue pickup. ’ Then he said, ‘Well, I bought it and it’s yours now,’” Smith recalled. The kind stranger said he would like to remain anonymous and only asked that Smith “pay it forward. He did this for me, and now it’s my turn,” Smith told News 2. The man told Smith to pick up the truck when he had a day off then he left the car lot. Oklahoma residents sentenced for Cass County crime - Fremont Tribune

PLATTSMOUTH – Two Oklahoma residents learned Monday morning that they would serve time in prison for driving a stolen vehicle in Cass County. , resident Daniel P. Reese, 39, and Oklahoma City resident Chelcy R. Pinson, 29, both appeared in Cass County District Court for plea hearings. Both pled guilty to Class IV felony charges of theft-receiving stolen property $500-$1,500. Reese and Pinson both asked to be immediately sentenced after entering their pleas. Deputy County Attorney Colin Palm told the court Pinson and Reese stole a 2003 GMC Sonoma pickup truck from the southern Indiana town of Santa Claus April 28. They switched the license plate from the truck and drove away. Two Cass County Sheriff’s Office deputies made contact with the defendants along Highway 75 April 30. They soon learned that Pinson had provided a false name to one of the deputies during their conversation. The deputies inspected the pickup and noticed its vehicle identification number was different from the VIN that appeared with records for the license plate number. Authorities conducted a database search of the VIN and found the pickup had been stolen two days earlier. The Oklahoma Department of Corrections lists a lengthy criminal history for Reese dating back to 1998. He was convicted of 12 charges for three separate criminal incidents in 2001.
