Nissan adds SSS sedan to improved Series II Pulsar range - Northern Star

The new Pulsar SSS sedan replaces the Pulsar Ti (which was priced at $29,990) and will have the same specification as well as a SSS bodykit and Rear Park Assist. Additional value has also been injected into the Pulsar hatch range, highlighted by a $3800 reduction in the manufacturer suggested retail price of the Pulsar SSS hatch. I used to occasionally road test second-hand cars and, to be honest, I got far more feedback from those stories than I ever did with a new-car test. I guess that shows that most of us buy our cars on the second-hand market. Vehicles have, of course, moved on from the 1980s, but I’ve maintained an interest in motoring matters, although I can’t say I’ve driven every new-car offering by any stretch. Here is my opinion across 10 vehicle models and categories. All vehicles carry a manufacturer’s recommendation on the maximum weight they can pull, covering both braked and unbraked trailers. Ratings will vary even within models, depending on engine size and whether they’re automatic or manual transmission. It may even vary with a higher or lower specification model, depending on things like wheels, tyres, and the overall weight of a vehicle. Regardless of what I say, or indeed anybody who takes part in the discussion, it is up to each of us as individuals to check the tow rating of a vehicle and the towbar, and decide for themselves whether they can hook on a single or double float,... Toyota Landcruiser You’ll be hard-pressed to convince me that anything else out there beats a VX Limited Landcruiser for pulling a double float. Man, 60, shot as neighbours row - New Zealand Herald

A dispute between neighbours has resulted in a 60-year-old Northland man suffering gunshot wounds. After a major armed police callout Kaitaia officers yesterday arrested a 21-year-old Coopers Beach man. Kaitaia police had converged on a rural home near Mangonui following reports of a shooting just before midday on Saturday. Detective Sergeant Trevor Beatson said the Northland District Armed Offenders Squad, and other armed local officers went to the property in Kohumaru Rd and the surrounding area. Officers found a 60-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds about his upper body, back, neck and leg, from what police believed to have been shots fired from a shotgun. Late on Saturday night members of the AOS and other police staff searched several properties looking for people involved in the violence. While the searches had not located anyone of interest, police said they did not believe those involved in the incident posed a risk to the wider community. Police had asked the public for help to find a dark-coloured, possibly black, 1991 Toyota Hilux Surf four-wheel-drive vehicle, believed to have been involved in the incident.
