Hyundai's Genesis Coupe never got a V8, but it might get twin turbos instead - Digital Trends
Hyundai’s Genesis Coupe was a welcome sight for anyone interested in a front engined, rear-wheel drive coupe that wasn’t an American musclecar or a wildly expensive European import. There were always looming rumors that the coupe would get a version of the V8 that the Genesis and Equus sedan packed, but lately, with manufacturers shying away from big blocks, a new rumor suggests it may get some twin-power action. A post from the Korean Car Blog suggests that Hyundai’s new 3. 3-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder GDi engine will find its way in the engine bay of the next generation Genesis Coupe. Currently, the naturally aspirated 3. 8-liter V6 the coupe sports puts out 348 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque. Also, keep in mind that, as the blog post suggests, there’s lots of aftermarket upgrade potential, which is a crowd Hyundai is surely keen on appealing to.
