When a deputy approached the truck's open driver-side door, the driver, 34-year-old Adam Baughman of Weaverville, initially closed and locked the door and refused to give any information, claiming to be a "sovereign citizen" not subject to local,... Deputies eventually unlocked the pickup and found that Baughman had no driver's license, only an Oregon identity card, Crawford said. A search of the vehicle revealed 11 pounds of suspected marijuana and 2 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, along with $15,000 cash, a scale and suspected drug sale records, according to Crawford. Deputies also found a set of brass knuckles as well as ammunition that Baughman, as a convicted felon, was not allowed to have, Crawford said. Allegations against Baughman included possessing and transporting methamphetamine with intent to sell, marijuana possession for sale, ammunition possession by a felon, and illegal weapon possession.
