Overall, cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis rose by 6 percent from 2013 to 2014, said Krissie Guerard, who manages the health department's HIV/STD/TB section. Louis County reported 731 of the 24,599 chlamydia cases statewide, according to the report. They hit black and American Indian populations harder than other racial groups, Guerard said, and adolescents harder than other age groups.
