A classic car built in 1983 - and in the same condition as it came off the production line at Longbridge - with just 741 miles on the clock is coming up for sale. In the 32 years since it was made, the Austin Metro Vanden Plas 500 has clearly been cherished, polished and hardly used – and has had one registered owner. One of only 500 built, this Austin Metro was the second off the production line and has only had its seats and water pumps replaced over its three decades of existence, according to its only ever owner. If anyone want to get it back on the roads it has an MOT until June 2016. Austin Metro Vanden Plas 500 models are a rare sight on UK roads, with 387 registered in 1994 and only five registered this year , all of which are off the road and declared... The owner of the car said: “I doubt you will find another Metro like this in the world. More than 1. 3 million Metros were sold by 1994 and famous owners include Princess Diana, who drove a red W-registered Metro before her marriage to Prince Charles. “This is a unique opportunity to own an incredibly rare car, at no reserve, and this example is one to potentially bubble-wrap for the future.
