Nissan Discontinues The Pathfinder Hybrid, Infiniti QX60 Hybrid Stays for Now - autoevolution
Last year in October, the Nissan Pathfinder received a set of enhancements for the 2015 model year aimed to make the mid-sized crossover more desirable, but nothing unusual so far. However, the Japanese carmaker will not keep the Pathfinder Hybrid in its lineup, because "hybrids make a lot of sense in other applications, but not this particular one. According to the same source, the two-wheel-drive Pathfinder Hybrid wears a $3,000 higher sticker than the regular Pathfinder, but only offered an additional four mpg, combined, city, and highway. Therefore, the Pathfinder Hybrid's exit from Nissan's 2016 model year lineup should be viewed as a financial decision, not one that would suggest Nissan doesn't want to carry on with hybrids anymore.
