Zattack 2012: The return of the Z cars to Nissan HQ in Nashville - AutoWeek

On Saturday morning, more than 100 Z cars from 11 states lined up at Nissan headquarters for the people's choice concours. Six generations of Z cars from 1970 to 2012 ranged from bone stock to highly modified. The first car in line was an orange 1972 240Z that looked as if it came off the showroom floor--or the boat. Owner Bob Speights, a Nissan employee, said, "I replaced the aftermarket radiator cap with a genuine Nissan part. A few steps away, Russell Floyd of Z1 Motorsports was showing off the highly modified twin-turbo engine of his 1993 300ZX. "It's the most powerful Nissan ZX in the United States as far as we know," he said, adding, "It makes right around 1,200 hp... And a number of Nissan employees came by with their Z cars or just to mingle. "The diversity of the generations of Z cars on display is one thing that always impresses me," Krueger said.
