Suspect in stolen car shot by DPD officer - 9NEWS.com

DENVER - A carjacking suspect who was shot by officers Saturday evening after pointing a handgun at them is in critical but stable condition. Denver Police say three suspects were spotted inside of a black 2008 Infiniti G37 that had been reported stolen in an armed carjacking in Aurora earlier that day. An undercover officer first spotted the vehicle, and called for help. Police say the stolen vehicle backed into an alley, and was followed by a marked DPD car. The Infiniti then backed into the police vehicle, and authorities say the suspects got out. One of them -- who left through the passenger-side door -- took out a handgun, police say, and started bringing it up toward the officers. "Two officers, feeling threatened for their lives and the lives of others, discharged their firearms, striking the suspect," a news release from DPD says. Neither the suspects nor the officers involved have been identified. Source: www.9news.com
