CEDAR PARK, Texas (KXAN) — A Cedar Park police accident reconstructionist who was at the scene of a single car wreck in mid-July that claimed the life of a young Leander man wrote in her report “racing” was one possibility being investigated at... “While on-scene it was reported that this vehicle along with multiple others had been involved in a car show,” Ofc. 23-year-old Victor Hugo Macias died at the scene that sunny, Saturday morning when his gray 2008 Infiniti G37 sports car slid out of control. New video shows out-of-control car. Also for the first time, on-board video taken from a 2015 Red Corvette captures Macias’ car sliding in a cloud of brown dust, a second or two before the impact. It shows the Corvette driver traveling from Lime Creek Road, then turning south along Anderson Mill Road as several other cars trail him. As he accelerates, the image of what appears to be Macias’ car appears briefly in the southbound lanes, engulfed in the dust cloud as it slides out of sight, its front wheels turned to the right, as if the driver was trying to correct the slide. The morning of the tragedy, Cedar Park investigators learned there was video of the crash and put the word out to other police agencies to be on the look-out for several high-end sports cars.
