Driver arrested in fatal multi-car crash on Long Island - New York's PIX11 / WPIX-TV

SHIRLEY, N. Y. – Police say one person is dead and at least six are hurt after a four-car collision in Long Island Tuesday evening. Suffolk County police say it happened on the William Floyd Parkway in Shirley about 9:51 p. m. Tuesday. Cops say 31-year-old Kendell Owens was driving a 2005 Infiniti G35 eastbound on Montauk Highway when his car struck a 2006 Chryslter Sebring, driven by 45-year-old Richard Garcia who was traveling northbound on William Floyd Parkway. Alyssa Toth, 23, of Mastic was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze northbound on William Floyd Parkway behind Garcia's car and crashed into his car after the initial collision, according to police. Authorities say 37-year-old Xavier Patino of Queens who was driving a 2011 BMW X6 westbound on Montauk Highway and was struck by the first two cars. Patino and his four passengers, including an infant boy and two-year-old girl were taken to a local hospital where they were checked out and later released. Source: pix11.com
