2013 Infiniti QX56 review notes - AutoWeek

EDITOR WES RAYNAL: This 2013 Infiniti QX56 is a monstrosity and I mean that both in a positive and negative way. Positive because I like big trucks (love the Chevrolet Suburban for example), negative because it's so big…. The exterior is all Infiniti. When it comes to handling, it wallows a bit and the steering is light at low speeds and doesn't firm up much as speeds rise. There's really nothing you could do with the QX that you couldn't also do with the JX35 except tow a bunch more with this. It will lug around 8,500 pounds according to the Infiniti site. If, say, you have a horse trailer or a boat or classic/race car, this would be a fine, cushy tow vehicle. With all that said, you could do it all in Chevy Suburban for thousands less as the dealers like to say. EXECUTIVE EDITOR BOB GRITZINGER: I had the pleasure of driving a QX56 while on vacation in Florida, as well as putting this identical model to work back in Detroit for a variety of errands and activities over a weekend. In both situations, the QX excelled -- and that's coming from an Autoweek staffer who had a somewhat negative view of the long-term test QX we had a year ago. Source: autoweek.com
