Police: Victim in fatal East Moriches head-on crash identified - Newsday
(Credit: Chris Sabella) . Police have released the identity of the SUV driver killed Friday in a head-on collision with a pickup truck on Montauk Highway in East Moriches. The victim is Nilda Jewell, 56, Suffolk County police said. Police said Jewell was driving a 2011 Jeep Liberty sport utility vehicle westbound on Montauk Highway at 8:40 p. m. when she crossed over the double-yellow. Police said that after the impact the Jeep burst into flames and that Jewell died at the crash scene, which was near Bay Avenue. Source: www.newsday.com
