Odessa man pleads to federal gun charges - Odessa American

Police found the back door of the business open as Scott broke into the building entered through a rooftop door and tore down a surveillance camera inside, according to police. Police were able to retrieve the surveillance video captured before the camera was knocked out, and through Odessa Crime Stoppers, several leads came in identifying Scott as the person who took the guns. Detectives with the police department later found Scott and found two of the firearms stolen from Brush Mountain Outfitters as well as methamphetamine. Scott reportedly told police the firearms he took from the store were in his garage and officers found guns matching the description of the guns reported stolen but with the serial numbers “obliterated. During an interview with police, Scott reportedly admitted to taking the guns and said he destroyed the serial numbers on the guns using a Dremel tool. Scott was southbound on Loop 338 in a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee when, according to an accident report, he disregarded the stop sign within a construction zone and collided with a westbound 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Rojo. Rojo’s 17-year-old daughter, Socorro Ashley Salgado, and his 45-year-old wife, Leticia, were injured and taken to Medical Center Hospital where they were later released. Source: www.oaoa.com
