Union: Fiat Says Jeep Wrangler Staying In Ohio, Not Cherokee - The Courier

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Union leaders in Ohio say Fiat Chrysler plant managers are telling workers that the automaker will keep production of the Jeep Wrangler in Toledo while also moving the Jeep Cherokee line out of state. Officials with the United Auto Workers in Toledo say the announcement Tuesday that the Cherokee would be moving came out of the blue. Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne told the publication that the company had found a solution to expand Wrangler production. Auto workers and city leaders in Toledo have been on edge for months since Fiat revealed it was considering moving the Wrangler assembly line because of the cost of reconfiguring its current plant.
