Potter County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Debbie Horn said she ruled Wilcox’s death accidental, but said his autopsy report and information on the cause of his death are not yet releasable to the public. She said her ruling on the manner of his death could change if an ongoing Amarillo Police Department Special Crimes Unit investigation leads to criminal charges. Horn said she received Wilcox’s autopsy results about a week and a half ago, and she finalized his death certificate the same day. “I’m not part of the investigation, and I don’t even know what happened except what I was told at the hospital that night,” Horn said. The Valero gas station at South Coulter Street and Southwest 34th Avenue was robbed at gunpoint early Wednesday, Amarillo police said. , a white male entered the Valero gas station and robbed the store with a small-caliber pistol. He left the store in a green or black Jeep Wrangler, police said. Crime scene investigators were at the gas station about 7:30 a. m. swabbing for DNA and fingerprints.
