MANALAPAN – A 60-year-old township man died after being struck by a vehicle while walking on Route 33, authorities said. At approximately 10:11 p. m. on Tuesday, a 2009 Jeep Patriot being driving by a 27-year-old woman from Matawan was traveling east on Route 33 when struck a pedestrian near the intersection of Woodward Road, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office... The victim – a 60-year-old Manalapan man – was taken to CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township where he died as a result of unspecified injuries he sustained in the crash, the prosecutor's office said. No charges or arrests had been made as of Wednesday evening, but the investigation was active and ongoing at that time, the prosecutor's office said.
