New Kia Optima is ready to break cover at the 2015 New York Auto Show - New York Daily News
Do you remember the 2009 Kia Optima. Probably not, and that's due to what happened at Kia's stand at the 2010 New York Auto Show. That all changed five years ago, when Kia showed the 2011 model year variant of its completely revamped and reinvigorated Optima. Auto journalists raved, customers reached for their wallets, and Optima sales shot skyward. Now, half a decade later, Kia is hoping its updated Optima has the same impact. From what we see in the two teaser sketches released by Kia, the next Optima should have a slimmer grille and trimmer front headlights. You might also think Kia is abandoning door handles and fitting a pair of 24-inch alloy wheels to the next Optima, based on these snazzy sketches.
