Temecula Woman, 61, Injured in Head-on Crash Dies - Patch.com

Officer Mike Lassig said the woman was eastbound on Rancho California Road about 8 p. m. when another vehicle crashed into her 2009 Kia Spectra. According to Lassig, 77-year-old Martiniado Mata of Riverside was westbound on Rancho California, approaching Monte De Oro, when he allowed his 2006 Dodge Dakota pickup truck to drift into the opposing traffic lane. “The Dakota continued westbound in the eastbound lane and collided head-on with the victim’s Kia Spectra, causing major damage to both vehicles. Riverside County fire crews extricated the Kia driver and Mata from the wreckage. The Jeep driver, a 76-year-old woman, escaped injury, according to Lassig. Source: patch.com
