Dunnellon woman dies of injuries following West SR 40 crash - Ocala
Andy Curtis, who called himself the "life" partner of Candy Carmona, 43, said she passed away Monday at 3:45 a. m. at Ocala Regional Medical Center. Carmona sustained severe brain injury and died with her family by her side, according to the family's attorney, Victor J. Musleh Jr. of the Musleh Law Firm, in an email message. She was many things to many people and I will miss her deeply,” Curtis wrote about Carmona in the email missive. 19, a 2015 Dodge Ram truck driven by Heather Shaw left a private residence in the 8500 block of W. State Road 40 and attempted to turn left. Carmona, driving a 2006 Kia Optima, was heading west on SR 40 when the vehicles collided. Shaw, 44, of Ocala, was taken to Munroe Regional Medical Center, where she was treated and released. Musleh would not discuss the case, other than to say that he is representing the Carmona family with regard to a wrongful death claim. Musleh's email states that Carmona lived most of her life in Dunnellon and attended Dunnellon High School.
