Williams Group buys Jaguar dealership in Manchester from Pendragon - AM-online

The deal was completed yesterday, when Stratstone Jaguar Manchester, on Upper Brook Street, became known as Williams Jaguar Manchester. This latest acquisition will bring together the Jaguar and Land Rover brands in the heart of Manchester. Williams Jaguar Manchester will become the 14th motor retail centre in the group’s portfolio which includes BMW, Mini and motorcycles. “The Jaguar franchise is a premium player in the market, and given our current relationship with Jaguar Land Rover Limited, will prove a perfect fit for the Williams Group. Specialising in BMW, Mini and Land Rover cars as well as BMW motorcycles, the Williams Group already has 13 showrooms across the region, including those in Bolton, Liverpool, Manchester, Rochdale and Stockport. Pendragon plc is the largest independent operator of franchised motor car dealerships in the UK with a turnover of in excess of £3 billion tops the AM100. Pendragon sells a broad range of makes of motor cars and commercial vehicles. Pendragon became a public limited company when the vehicle division of Williams plc was de-merged in 1989, at that time operating 19 car dealerships, representing specialist and luxury franchises, in addition to a small contract hire business.
