99000 Range Rovers Recalled for Bad Brake Hoses - Car and Driver (blog)

There are two separate U. S. recalls affecting the British 4x4s. One includes the 2013-2014 Range Rover and 2014 Range Rover Sport for brake vacuum hoses that may have been routed incorrectly. Starting March 13, dealers will reroute the brake hoses, install a clip, and replace any damaged hoses. The second recall involves the previous-generation, 2006-2012 Range Rover (but not the pre-facelift 2002-2005 models), for front brake fluid hoses that can rupture and disable the front brakes. Land Rover began checking these front brake hoses in late 2010 when dealers first reported “bulges” on certain spots. Subsequent testing in 2011 and 2012 showed the hoses were still capable of withstanding the specified pressure and were not leaking, although an accident reported last year and lots of replacement brake hoses—the supplier was changed starting in...
