Google's Car Company Is Named 'Google Auto' - The Art of Gears
Google’s a real life car company. Those driverless Lexus RX450h’s with those giant rotating radar’s on the top of the roof, although made by Lexus, are actually licensed Google Cars. 1, 2015) those cars are actually operating under an LLC called ‘Google Auto. ’ Thanks to the California Public Records Act of 1968, documents show that Google Auto was formed sometime in late 2011. Mainly the move was made by Google to protect itself in the event that these driverless cars were involved in an accident and... It’s no rumor that Google’s had plans to make it’s own autonomous vehicles and has been lobbying hard with automakers to partner on a possible project, although no automaker has stepped up to the plate. Paperwork filed by Google Auto with the NHTSA, and seen by the Guardian, indicates that the cars are rear-wheel drive in design, with each wheel having its own braking system. Yes, that same company that makes a 670 HP Stage 3 Mustang is the same company that is working on making a Google Autonomous car.
