--> Lexus International will never allow Malaysia to assemble any Lexus models. It is to maintain the extreme high level of quality and finishing on all Lexus products. They will never want to risk their brand being tarnished with poor finishing and reliability issues. The only 2 countries that Lexus International allows to build Lexus cars are Japan and Canada (which Only ensembles the ES and RX). Just look at the fit and finish of CKD BMW’s and Mercedes… They are poorly built locally. Lexus President even mentioned recently that they will not be allowing China to build Lexus cars anytime soon although demand is high. This is simply to control the quality of Lexus cars.
