Maserati continues to stand out, even if the Quattroporte trails German rivals - New York Daily News

Only the Italian language could make “four doors” sound this sexy. That’s all that Quattroporte means, after all. And perhaps only Maserati could make us swoon for a luxury sedan that, by pretty much any measure, no longer keeps up with the technical powerhouses that dominate the super sedan segment. Flawed as it might be, the Maserati Quattroporte is a passionate dose of imperfection in a market full of coolly calculated engineering, and autobahn-tuned dynamic brilliance. the Quattroporte trades a conservative cut for something more daring. Our main complaint is that the overall effect is now too reminiscent of Maserati’s own smaller (and significantly less expensive) Ghibli sedan. Don’t get me wrong, the red leather interior of our Quattroporte GTS was stunning, we made excuses to open the door, close the door, open it again – to pretend we’d forgotten something – and leave the door open, all to see onlookers marvel at this... As silver linings go, at least this means Chrysler’s large and user-friendly Uconnect infotainment system is part of the parts-sharing going on here. Source: www.nydailynews.com
