Real Wheels Live: The Mazda 3, mileage and value, and more - Washington Post

While I know that all the big sites allow you to see the dimensions of a particular model, I'm looking for something that lets me search for all cars under say 160" long for example. Since MINI insists on making their cars bigger and bigger they are leaving me behind. I'd also like to get the best fuel economy I can (ideally without premium gas) and the latest safety features. And I'd like to keep the price at our below the low $40's. I've driven the Land Rover Discovery Sport and liked it, but am a little concerned that there might not be enough cargo space even with the 3rd row down. Going smaller, the Outlander and Rogue offer great mileage for the segment but the Outlander gets tepid reviews and there is something about the Rogue that I don't love. The new Kia Sorento might hit the sweet spot, but it bothers me that the only way to get 3 rows without a 6-cylinder engine (and a hit to fuel economy) is to go with a lower trim that limits available options (including safety features). Moving up in size, the Pathfinder looks nice and seems to offer the best configurations, and the new Pilot also looks nice. I'm not a fan of the Highlander or Explorer, the Traverse and Durango lag in fuel economy, and while the CX-9 gets great reviews mostly for its handling, I'm not looking for an "enthusiast" purchase and just need something that will get me where...
