Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office Deputy Dave Struckman and his canine partner, Kane, were injured in a two-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Le Sueur County roads 161 and 162 in Montgomery Township. Three passengers included two 18-year-old Montgomery residents, Quinton Sawatzky and Dillan Horejsi, along with 19-year-old Ryan Thompson of New Prague. All occupants of both vehicles were wearing seat belts, according to the Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office. Struckman radioed the Le Sueur County Sheriff's Communication Center at 5:47 p. m. Thursday to report the accident. Sheriff Dave Tietz said the accident is under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol, but added it appears the Mazda failed to yield and struck the patrol SUV.
