Man charged in wreck that injures 3 - Online Athens

Three people were taken to Athens Regional Medical Center early Monday after a man caused a car, driven by his ex-girlfriend, to crash off Whit Davis Road, according to Athens-Clarke police. Police arrived to find the 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier on its roof. Police said the Cavalier was intentionally hit in the rear by a Mazda pickup driven by Robert Daniel Allen, 26, causing the driver to lose control and run off the road where it flipped. A witness told police he saw the pickup driver stop, then speed off. Police went to Allen’s home on Glendale Heights and arrested him on charges of failing to report an accident and three counts of aggravated assault.
