An all-new Oxford White 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang with black racing stripes was the first high-performance model of this breed to roll off the assembly line at the Flat Rock Ford plant in Flat Rock, Michigan. The big day finally arrived and it was a big celebration for the assembly line team at the Michigan plant. It’s an important day for Ford as the this is one of the most iconic performance Mustang nameplates of all time. Bill Ford, executive chairman, Ford Motor Company was present to see the first example roll off the line. At the special ceremony which took place today, Bill Ford said, “We have taken the GT350 formula to the next level of innovation, style and performance. ” The new 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang packs a 5. 2-liter V8 pumping out 526hp and 429 lb ft of torque for performance enthusiasts. The GT 350R starts at $61,295. Along with the new Ford Mustang, Flat Rock Assembly Plant also produces the Ford Fusion. This Ford plant has been producing vehicles since 1987, when it opened as Mazda Motor Manufacturing USA and built Mazda MX-6. Ford purchased a 50 percent share in the facility in 1992, and it was renamed AutoAlliance International.
