"I'm driving a death trap," said Morales. She said a few days ago she turned the key in the ignition, placed the vehicle in reverse and there was a bang. "I went into reverse without any impact and my side airbags exploded," she said. Still, when she took it to her Mazda dealer for repairs, she left disappointed. "The brand of airbag that's in that car is not on the list," she said. Jacksonville attorney Wayne Hogan, who handles product liability cases, checked the government's website for recalls of Morales' vehicle and found a few matches. "There have been some recalls related to the vehicle, not necessarily related to the airbag situation in her vehicle," said Hogan. He said her course of action for now is to find out if those recalls have been corrected, then she needs to report her airbag case to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
