Police: Texas man killed in I-81 crash - The Sentinel

SOUTH MIDDLETON TOWNSHIP – A Texas tractor-trailer driver is dead after a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 81 in South Middleton Township Thursday morning. State Police at Carlisle said Ismael Medina, 54, of Laredo, Texas, was traveling north on I-81 at 7:40 a. m. Thursday and failed to see the traffic slowing and stopped ahead of him in the left lane. Police said his 2005 Freightliner tractor-trailer struck the rear of a 2016 Mazda 6 driven by Sean Kane, 24, of Carlisle, which was pushed into the median. The tractor-trailer continued north, hitting the rear of a 2006 Mazda 3 driven by Kyle Chiaverini, 34, of Fayetteville. After that impact, the tractor-trailer veered into the median, rolling over onto its right side and pushing Horst’s vehicle into the rear of a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Michaelann Moser, 50, of Chambersburg, whose vehicle was then pushed... Police continue to investigate the crash and were assisted at the scene by Carlisle Fire Department, Cumberland Goodwill EMS, fire police and PennDOT.
