Mechanically, the 2014 Dodge Durango carries over the 290-hp, 3. 6-liter Pentastar V-6 and 360-hp, 5. 7-liter Hemi V-8, but both engines will now be paired with an eight-speed automatic on all models. This combination should improve fuel economy by nine to 15 percent, Chrysler says, which should mean EPA ratings of approximately 18/25 mpg city/highway for V-6 models and 15/22 mpg city/highway for V-8 models. The Limited model is new for 2014, the Rallye model replaces the Crew model, and the R/T and Citadel models receive price increases of $2500 and $1000, respectively. The 2014 Durango Rallye, which starts at $33,985, adds five hp to the V-6 engine for a total of 295 hp, along with special wheels and body color exterior trim for a sportier appearance.
