Ex-MCSO deputy arrested in Pinal, accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl - TriValley Central

After police found sexually explicit text messages between Valles and a 15-year-old girl, a follow-up investigation revealed Valles had sex with the girl when she was 14 years old. The incidents allegedly occurred in Pinal County and Maricopa County. A family member of the 15-year-old initially alerted PCSO after finding the texts on an electronic device belonging to the girl. Valles worked as a sworn MCSO deputy when allegations arose that he abused a child three years earlier, in 2008. But Valles never was charged with the unspecified sex crimes, and was instead terminated from his position with Sheriff Joe Arpaio's... The 2011 case was initially reported in Pinal County, but PCSO detectives decided to turn it over to MCSO and Child Protective Services once they discovered the incidents occurred in Maricopa County. "We assumed that everything was going to be investigated and it was going to be completed," said Mark Clark, public information officer for PCSO. The girl in the first case was younger than 10 years old at the time of the crime, Clark said. Authorities discovered Valles still had access to the first girl from the 2008 case, so police moved quickly, Clark said. PCSO deputies sent the Queen Creek case to the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which launched its own inquiry into Valles' past behavior. Source: www.trivalleycentral.com
