This one didn't quite make it to 175,000 miles, which is pretty good for a 1980s Toyota but certainly not worth writing home about. It wasn't rust and the body and interior are still pretty decent, so the most likely culprits come down to some expensive mechanical problem (e. g. , head gasket) or a lot of parking tickets followed by a visit from the mean ol' tow-truck man.
