The sad fact is Mercedes-Benz G-Class will have to receive some sort of cosmetic makeover sooner rather than later. How will that transformation leave the mighty G-Wagen looking is still a mystery, one that's set people's imagination on fire. The G-Class has this very rare quality of having a truly timeless design. Usually, 'timeless' means people will continue to like it over time, but in its case it means people will continue to buy it over time. Changing the G-Class is one of those important decisions that can make or break a model and I'm sure somebody at Mercedes-Benz is heavily losing sleep over it. I know I would. It's dangerous to remain rooted in the past, but it can be even more dangerous to change something people have become so familiar with. After all, if it ain't broken, why fix it. It's the kind of situation where you wouldn't want to be in the shoes of the men making the decision, but at the same time you'd like to have a word in the final outcome. Anyhow, whatever the people over at Mercedes-Benz decide to do, we hope they don't get to see these renderings made by ARES Design Modena. The drawings use some features found on current Mercedes-Benz models for authenticity, but the rest seems taken out of a manga cartoon.
