Pitching coach Matt Heath is expected to be named the new College of Charleston baseball coach. Sources close to the team have said Heath has informed players that he will replace Monte Lee, who has taken the head coaching job at Clemson. Lee, 38, left the College of Charleston, his alma mater, after seven years and a 276-145 record, including 45-15 in 2015. The Cougars appeared in the NCAA Tournament four times. Heath, an LSU graduate, just completed his fifth season at the College of Charleston and the Cougars’ pitching staff has improved each year. Source: www.postandcourier.com
