MUMBAI: Having steered Mercedes Benz to a five digit sales mark in India, Eberhard Kern, the MD & CEO of the company is stepping up to an assignment in Europe. Kern has completed a successful three year stint at the company. He's handing over the steering wheel to Roland Folger, the MD & CEO of German car maker's Malaysian operation who will take charge of India operations starting 1st of October. Having taken up the mantle in 2012, when the company posted a decline of 4 percent to 7138 units, Kern played an important role in almost doubling the annual volumes of the company in the last three years and helped Mercedes Benz regain its number... Calling his India stint as 'enriching and humbling, Eberhard Kern, MD & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India said, in his three decades of Daimler career, the stint in India remains the most memorable one. It is very satisfying to see the immense growth of Mercedes-Benz in India as our sales volumes nearly doubled from 2012 to 2015.
