Well, in terms of its variant proliferation anyway, because there are now many more Mini varieties than ever seen back when the original was in its hey-day in the swinging sixties. Since the born-again Mini hit the streets in 2002, we've been treated to coupe versions, a long-wheelbase with three side doors, a convertible, and, of course, the original three-door hatchback (despite that fact that the 60s Mini was not a... But possibly the greatest departure from the original theme is the Mini Countryman which mixes a longer wheelbase with five doors and a higher ride-height with that iconic Mini badge. Even within that specific Countryman sub-set there are plenty of alternatives, too. 6-litre normally-aspirated or a 1. 6-litre turbo. So here's the first piece of buying-second-hand advice: Make sure you know exactly what specification you're looking at, because brand-new, Countryman prices spanned a vast gulf from just under $38,000 to a whopping almost-$58,000. Some were four-seaters, some had five seats (it was a no-cost option) so, again, if maximizing passenger numbers is important, make sure you're buying the five-seater and count the seat-belts to make sure.
