First plug-in hybrid from Mini. Mini is currently prepping a PHEV version of the next generation 2017 Mini Countryman, which was recently spotted testing in Munich, courtesy of instagram user Michael Wulz. To be based on the UKL platform, it is likely to borrow the hybrid powertrain that BMW is developing for the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer (riding on the same platform). It will combine the 136 hp 1. 5-liter 3-cylinder turbo motor with a 102 hp electric motor for a combined output of 238 hp.
