Car review: 2015 Mini Cooper S 4-door - The Salinas Californian

Earlier this year I reviewed the 2015 Mini Cooper hardtop and fell totally in love with the car. Recently I had a chance to test its big brother, the Cooper Hardtop S model and believe me it's good to be the elder sibling. I can say that I love both cars but the Cooper S is every bit the butt-kicking, fire breathing monster on rails that you'd want out there. On the outside my cool little tester sported an electric blue paint job with cool carbon black stripes on its bonnet. The Cooper Hardtop S may be small but believe me, no one messes with it. The Cooper S came with a leather-wrapped steering wheel with multifunction buttons, and a great ergonmic shifter that with my automatic allowed me to easily select green,... Other cabin features in my tester included a great Harmon Kardon sound system and a nice large nav-media screen that was easy to use. My tester had a great and expansive moonroof for an injection of fresh air when needed but also a dual zone air conditioning system. The 2015 Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works is just a phenomenal vehicle. Gas mileage on this little rocket is something NASA ought to be paying attention to -- 29 mpg combined, 26 city and 33 mpg.
